MS2 #Play Project

We started the brainstorming from empathy building and the relationship between animals and humans. As it says, "A game is a safe way to experience reality." We want to take advantage of playing games to provide a chance for the audience to experience being an animal. So we build some costumes that create physical constraints for the audience who wear them. And they have to play a traditional "act and guess" game with these physical constraints.

We got the inspiration from Chris Woebken & Kenichi Okada's project Animal SuperPowers, in which they use technological devices to simulate animals’ view or to enhance human sense.

We chose 4 animals in total, which are sloth, penguin, horse, and fish. Based on each animal's physical features, we made 4 costumes to simulate the features that are different from humans'.

Follow-up

By inviting people to play as different animals, we want to call awareness for caring them. For instance, human intervention to the nature is largely affecting their habitats. Treating animals as tools also deprive their dignity and freedom.
